Chalkboard paint

Acrylic paint for preparation of chalkboard surface intended for drawing and writing with chalk. Ideal for painting cement plaster or lime-cement walls, gypsum substrates or chip-cement boards. It is also suitable for painting of wood, wood-like materials and metal after these surfaces have been primed. The surface painted with this paint is equivalent to chalkboard used at school – you may write and draw on it. Once the surface is completely dry, it may be cleaned with a wet cloth or sponge. The paint is characterized by perfect hardness; adhesion of the coat to the substrate and water-proof quality.

Description

Surface preparation: The surface for painting should be stable, firm and dry; any cavities must be filled in. Old, loose paint coatings must be removed. Before painting the substrate must be thoroughly ground and cleaned, and then degreased and dried. Concrete, cement or lime-cement plaster, brick, gypsum substrate or chip-cement board walls must be reinforced with Primacol Primagrunt primer. Wood and metal should be previously primed with a suitable priming paint.

Product preparation: Before use thoroughly mix the paint and repeat mixing also while painting. Do not mix with other paints. Dilute with water (max 5%), as required. Note! Overdilution affects paint quality. Paint with a paint roller for acrylic products or soft hair paintbrush. Apply 2 even layers of paint within 2-3 hours (double layer is a minimum to acquire chalkboard effect). Paint wet on wet and avoid marks left by the painting tool. The surface is ready for use after at least 3 days from paint application.

Note! Before you start painting always test the paint in a less visible area. After finishing painting, wash the tools in warm water with a detergent. It is recommended to use paint of the same batch for painting larger areas.

If you combine Chalkboard paint with Primacol Decorative magnetic paint you can use your walls in even more ways. If you use both products concurrently your surfaces could be handled in a completely different way. You could easily combine writing with chalk and attaching pictures and drawings on the walls using magnet. Example application of chalkboard paint: children’s room, kitchens, hallways, offices, conference halls. How to quickly prepare a chalkboard in a children’s room: draw gently any shape you like on the wall – the bigger the better for your child. Stick a paper tape outside the shape you drew and paint the area inside with Primacol Decorative Chalkboard Paint. Remove the paper tape. Once the paint has set, the surface is ready for use – you can paint and draw with chalk.
