Crackle effect varnish

Description

Instructions for use: Paint a smooth and non-absorbing surface (once cleaned and decreased) with the paint and remember that this coating will be visible as crackle scratches. Paints such as Decobase, Trendy Colors, and Primacol Decorative artist’s metallic varnishes are recommended. Once dried, apply a layer of varnish (using a roller or a brush). Wait at least 4 hours, but not more than 12 hours, and cover the entire surface with topcoat paint in a colour that contrasts with the first layer. Apply the paint once and do not make any corrections. The crackle effect appears after a while once the paint is applied on a layer of varnish. The size of crackles depends on the thickness of the applied varnish and topcoat paint. In order to obtain small crackles, apply a thin layer of the varnish and topcoat paint. Otherwise, apply thicker layers of the mentioned products. The shape and size of crackles also depends on the type of the tool used (roller, brush, sponge). To make the crackles visible, the colour of both applied paint layers must be contrasting.

Important! The final effect depends on many factors, in particular, the coating thickness, application method, and paint type. Use water-based and acrylic paints. For some paints, the crackle effect cannot be obtained. It is necessary to make a spot test using your painting to make sure that the final effect on the surface is as desired. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any varnish application with paints not subject to tests.

Storage: Store in the original, tight container within temperature range of 5°C to 30°C. Keep out of the reach of children. Protect from direct sunlight.
